Lars A. Carlson, MD, FRCP, is Emeritus Research Professor at Karolinska Institutet and Director of the Lipid and Hypertension Clinic at Sophiahemmet, Stockhlom. He has been the President of the European Society for Clinical Investigation and European Atherosclerosis Society. Prof. Carlson has published over 500 scientific articles and his main research interests include clinical lipidology and atherosclerosis. He has been a member of the Nobel Assembly, Karolinska Institutet for more than 2 decades.
