I was born in Germany in 1958. I studied social work at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. From 1981 to 2019 I worked as a qualified social worker in a specialist outpatient clinic for addicts. As part of my professional work, over the years I have had contact with over 2,000 people who turned to the specialist outpatient clinic for help. Unresolved traumatic experiences were often the background to the addiction. I have completed the following additional training: “Person-centered psychotherapy” “Focusing psychotherapy” “EMDR trauma therapy” “Brainlog in therapy and coaching” In addition, as a naturopath (psychotherapy), I have permission to practice medicine in the field of psychotherapy in Germany. I have been using EMDR trauma therapy to deal with traumatic disorders since 2008. I run a psychotherapy and trauma therapy practice. Trauma is a stressful experience that can have a profound impact on a person's life. They can be triggered by accidents, abuse, war or other traumatic events and often leave deep psychological wounds. But there is hope for overcoming trauma and living a fulfilling life. In order to overcome trauma, it is crucial to understand the trauma. Those affected should be aware that their reactions to the trauma are normal. Understanding what trauma is, what happens in the brain during trauma and what subsequent disorders trauma can trigger is the first step in processing trauma. Learn about PTSD to develop a better understanding of the condition. Learn how trauma affects the brain and body and what symptoms may occur. This knowledge can help you better understand your own body's reactions and feel less powerless. Time doesn't always heal all wounds. Around 20% of people who experience a traumatic situation develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In my experience, overcoming trauma is possible, and many people have managed to process their traumatic experiences and lead a fulfilling life. The key is being willing to accept help, understanding yourself and having patience. This can be a way to live rather than just survive.
