What do you do when you have a degree in theology, the only work experience you have is looking after a church, you have a family to provide for, and circumstances compel you to find some other way of earning a living for a while? This is the question Paul was faced with, as he explains in his book, The Collar and the Cab. In this personal autobiography, Paul explains how he decided to swap the clerical collar for a cab, and discovered an entire world he never knew existed. In this honest insight into his life, Paul shows how bravely crossing this cultural chasm, to experience life in a setting away from his former clergyman lifestyle, was like living on a different planet. This book will appeal to fans who enjoy gaining a true insight into a person’s life. Although this is not a religious book, Paul hopes that the church community will read it and learn something useful from his story. The Collar and
the Cab is a book for anyone who has ever been curious about what the life of a cabbie is really like and are interested in how the taxi industry works.

Paul Richards was born in Birmingham and is a lifelong Aston Villa supporter. He has been a clergyman nearly all his adult life but then decided to be a taxi driver. Paul believes he is married to the most patient woman in the world and has four adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing cricket, chess and the piano.
