Vitamin B12 or cobalamin is essential for the body as it is involved in several essential metabolic reactions. However, humans cannot synthesize it, which requires an exogenous intake to avoid the undesirable consequences of its deficiency. Various studies have shown that lactic acid bacteria can increase cobalamin levels in food. ZIAR, HasniaDr. Hasnia ZIAR has been working in the Department of Food Science at the University of Mostaganem, Algeria since 2007 until now. She obtained her PhD (2015) in the field of human nutrition from the University of Mostaganem, Algeria. Dr. ZIAR has many research experiences on probiotic bacteria.
