There are particular dermatological problems (such as skin cancers, lymphomas and blistering diseases) that present special difficulty in the elderly. These are the subject of this book which is written for dermatologists who want to know about the skin of their older patients, and for geriatricians whose patients have skin problems. The book is divided into three sections. The first deals with the scientific processes in ageing skin, and the second with the differential diagnosis of common skin problems. This consists of short essays on 12 different common cutaneous manifestations that will offer great practical help to non-specialists in making diagnoses. The third and major section of the book focuses on all the important clinical areas of the subspecialty and enables the physician, once a diagnosis has been made, to address the question of management.
