This CD-ROM takes the user on an interactive voyage through the middle ear. Via a number of case presentations the user can learn about investigating and diagnosing major middle-ear problems (for example, otosclerosis), and the use of relevant surgical techniques. Other features include: interactive exercises - allow the user to make decisions about which techniques to use and to view the outcomes; high-quality images provide colour photographs, CT scans and some histological specimens for each case presentation, and video clips for the surgical procedures; voiceover and text provide simple explanations of all procedures; and the zoom feature on all photographs allows the user to look at the middle ear in minute detail, and retains the clarity of the image at all magnifications. The CD-ROM is a dual-language edition and platform - English- and French-language options and Windows and Macintosh versions. A glossary includes subject presentation and answers to frequently-asked-questions.
