Molecular Pharmaceutics and Nano Drug Delivery: Fundamentals and Challenges provides a thorough resource for both beginners and established scientists, bringing fundamental knowledge about key challenges of these carriers down to the molecular level. The book satisfies the need of availability of literature at single platform with the detailed knowledge to understand crucial aspects, such as regulatory, clinical, toxicological and the formulation requirements of these carriers. This is a valuable resource for graduates, pharmaceutical researchers and anyone working on aspects of pharmaceutics, molecular pharmaceutics and nano-drug/gene delivery.

So called ‘novel drug delivery systems’ are numerous, with each having different approaches to their production, characterization and evaluation. The proper understanding of these dosage forms, as well as their critical attributes such as toxicity and regulatory requirements are aspects which researchers should know before they begin working on these carriers. This book provides this critical information.

Dr. Umesh Gupta, currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmacy, Central University of Rajasthan, India, did his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Dr. H. S. Gour University, India under the mentorship of Prof. NK Jain. He has recently been awarded for “DAAD Research Stays for Academics and Scientists” at Leibniz-institut fur Polymerforschung Dresden, Germany. He has the past experience of Research Scientist at Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, India and Post-Doctoral Research Associate at South Dakota State University, USA. HE is also recipient of Young Scientist Award by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India as well as Ranbaxy Science Scholar Award 2008 by Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, India. He has been awarded more than 3-4 times the overseas travel award by different funding agencies of Indian government to share and present his research at international platform in countries like Germany, USA and Singapore etc. He has more than ten years of research and academic experience. The area of research is mainly focused on dendrimer mediated drug delivery, solubilization and targeting. His laboratory equally focuses on effective brain delivery through nanotechnological carriers such as polymeric micelles, nanoparticles and dendrimers. He has more than 48 publications and seven book chapters to his credit with total citations of more than 2300 (h index of 23 as per Google Scholar). Dr. Amit Kumar Goyal is Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy, Central University of Rajasthan, India. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience at postgraduate and graduate level and worked as a Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, at ISF College of Pharmacy, Punjab, India. Subsequently, he joined as an Associate Professor at Gujarat Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar and after that as a Scientist at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad. Dr. Goyal has completed his M. Pharm. and Ph. D. from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. H. S. Gour University, Sagar (M.P.). Dr. Goyal is the leading scientist in the field of cutting age platform technology (Nanotechnology) for site specific targeted delivery of drugs and bio-actives. Dr. Goyal is expert in formulation development and delivery of drugs, vaccines and herbal bio-actives. He is working towards the common goals of exploring new ways of delivering herbal/bio-actives ingredient with the use of nanotechnology.
