J Mocco, MD, MS, a cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon with clinical interests in stroke, brain aneurysms, subarachnoid hemorrhage, arteriovenous malformations, cavernous malformations, carotid artery stenosis, intracranial stenosis, and brain tumors, is Professor and Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Neurosurgery, and Director of the Cerebrovascular Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Mocco was previously Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery, Radiology, and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Mocco received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his Master of Science in Biostatistics from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, a residency in Neurological Surgery from the Neurological Institute of New York and a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Mocco has published over 250 peer-reviewed publications, edited two textbooks on neurosurgical techniques, and runs numerous national and international clinical trials to improve the treatment of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Mocco’s research interests focus on translational efforts to treat ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Dr. Christopher Kellner is a Neuroendovascular Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Columbia University in 2015, he was awarded his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2008 and he completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Harvard College in 2002. He has received numerous honors and awards including the Young Neurosurgeon Medical Student Award from the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons, the Alpha Omega Alpha Carolyn L. Kluckein Research Award from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Doris Duke Clinical Fellowship from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.
