This is a hands-on introduction to modeling a wide variety of applications in Microsoft Excel. It features numerous tutorials and applications to illustrate how to model and solve problems in Excel. It can be used by itself or as a supplement to a text in Mathematical Modeling or Liberal Arts Mathematics. Neuwirth and Arganbright offer a more accessible and hands-on alternative than do other modeling texts.

Erich Neuwirth is a professor of mathematics and statistics at the University of Vienna. He has authored numerous contributed papers on the subject of using spreadsheets to help visualize structures. He maintains a wealth of valuable resources on this subject at http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/spreadsite/ Deane Arganbright is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Previously, he taught at Iowa State University, Whitworth College, and the University of Papua New Guinea. He has also authored MATHEMATICAL APPLICATIONS OF ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEETS, and PRACTICAL HANDBOOK OF SPREADSHEET CURVES AND GEOMETRIC CONSTRUCTIONS.
