He revised Learning the vi Editor, co-wrote X Window System in a Nutshell, and had an editorial hand in several other books in the X Window series.Daniel left O'Reilly after 6 years to pursue technical writing in Silicon Valley. He had a successful career with a wide range of tech companies -- from start-ups to mid-sized companies to one-time tech titanslike Netscape and Sun Microsystems -- culminating with 5 years at Google.In 2010, Daniel retired from Silicon Valley life and moved to Palm Springs, California to enjoy the sunshine and relaxed pace of this desert oasis.
